Responsible Products & Services

ADCB actively seeks opportunities to use our products and services to promote and advance environmental issues. Examples include issuing e-statements to replace paper statements; our Direct Debt solution to reduce paper volume; strategic partnerships; and using our e-platforms to facilitate fundraising for, and raise awareness of, environmental organisations and causes.

Customers Embrace e-Statements

ADCB has made significant investments across our operations to promote the transition from paper to e-statements for our retail, SME and, in 2016, our brokerage customers. This has led to a significant number of clients transitioning to e-statements, and has enhanced our customers' banking experience while reducing our impact on the environment.

Direct Debt Solution Automates Loan Repayments

ADCB partnered with Gulf Finance Corporation (GFC) to launch the UAE Direct Debit Solution (DDS). This technological enhancement enables clients to automate loan repayments directly from their banks. The new system streamlines GFC's cash management process and allows electronic recovery of receivables. As a result, GFC is enhancing transparency, reducing paperwork and eliminating the requirement of signing post-dated cheques.

Facilitating Support for Environmental Issues

EWS-WWF

ADCB demonstrates our commitment to protect the environment through our long-standing relationship with the Emirates Wildlife Society in association with World Wildlife Fund (EWS-WWF). Through our ATM donations screens and online banking platforms, we facilitate fundraising for our partner, to support their 5 strategic programmes in Climate Change and Energy, Marine Biodiversity, Terrestrial Biodiversity, Wildlife Trade and Environmental Education and Outreach, and to align with the UAE government's 2021 vision.

ADCP Partnership with GE's Current

Abu Dhabi Commercial Properties (ADCP), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bank, signed an agreement with GE's energy start-up Current, powered by GE, to drive energy efficiency and intelligent enterprise solutions across the projects that ADCP manages in the UAE. Through the agreement, ADCP promotes sustainable development by introducing the highest standards of energy efficiency to the community management services it provides, and helps to reduce the carbon footprint of the built environment. The partnership aligns with the UAE Government's vision to promote sustainable development while preserving the environment.

"I LED THE WAY"

This initiative was held in May 2016 as part of the Dubai Efficient Lighting Week, formulated by the Dubai Supreme Energy Council to support the government's energy reduction objective. The initiative brought retailers and lighting manufacturers together to promote energy-efficient lighting and encourage people and businesses to switch to energy-efficient lights by offering discounted prices on LED lights.

World Green Economy Summit (WGES)

The WGES is a world-leading platform, held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and initiated by the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority. The summit facilitates the shift to a green economy for government, business, finance and civil society through sessions, panel discussions and business relationship networking opportunities. ADCB participated in the 2016 WGES as a Business Partner sponsor and deepened our understanding renewables, green energy-related projects and future financing opportunities.
