Marcello Baricordi, General Manager for Visa in the UAE, said: “Visa has continued to see growth in the UAE and part of this success can be attributed to Visa cards offering greater control and security by proactively working with its stakeholders and thereby maintaining and enhancing stakeholder trust in Visa as the most secure way to pay and be paid. It is of immense importance to ensure that an ongoing certification is being maintained on PCI certification annually.”

Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a globally accepted initiative to help secure the card payment transactions. As part of the regulatory and card scheme requirements, all stakeholders have to secure their card portfolio and the data being processed through the payment system network are secured.

The PCI DSS initiative will help build and maintain a secure network, protect cardholder data, maintain a vulnerability management program, implement strong access control measures, regularly monitor and test networks and maintain an information security policy.
