2011 – A Year in Review
2012 was a very active year for ADCB, with highlights including involvement in a global partnership to attract direct foreign investment to Abu Dhabi, extending international capacity through an agreement with Banco Santander, and yet again winning a series of prestigious industry awards.

As co-sponsor of the fourth Abu Dhabi Investment Forum, held in London in October with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, the Bank was instrumental in bringing together Abu Dhabi’s industry leaders, financial intermediaries, and high-profile government officials. ADCB played a key role in supporting Abu Dhabi in attracting foreign direct investment to the Emirate.

The agreement with Banco Santander, the eurozone’s largest bank by market capitalisation, gives both parties the ability to provide greater services to their respective overseas clients in countries where they are not mutually present, paving the way for greater collaboration in areas such as trade and project finance, critical activities across the UAE economy.

ADCB continued its support for Breast Cancer Awareness through initiatives such as Pink Polo, the BurJuman Pink Walkathon, Emirates Woman of the Year Awards and the ADCB ATM donation programme. The introduction of the ADCB Tree of Hope further reinforced ADCB’s commitment to the cause and helped raise further vital funds for early detection and treatment of underprivileged patients.

Whether in terms of excellent business results or taking a very active part in the social and economic development of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, 2012 will go down as a memorable year for ADCB.
