23 June 2010

Abu Dhabi, 23 June 2010: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) announced today that its Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Banking Division has been awarded the Banker Middle East Industry Award 2010. This prominent award was established by CPI Financial, a leading financial media group, to recognise the highest standards of innovation and excellence in banking and financial services. ADCB was voted Best SME Bank in MENA Region among a shortlist of eight banks in this category.

The award was presented on Wednesday 16th May, at a ceremony held at Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai. The SME division of ADCB was also awarded Banker Middle East Products Award 2010 earlier in the year for its Businessedge suite of SME products and innovative marketing campaign.

Mr. Colin Fraser, Head of Wholesale Banking Group, ADCB, commented: "This highly prestigious award reaffirms our business strategy and the hard work the SME Banking team have put in to best meet the needs of our clients."

He continued "SMEs are the backbone of our economy, including some of the most exciting growth companies within the UAE, and we are fully committed to supporting this innovative segment. In line with this support we revamped our offering in 2008 through the launch of a number of new products and services under our BusinessEdge product suite, which after two years of hard work and dedication from the team has had its growth and success recognised through this prestigious award."

This year, ADCB also received the Asian Banker Award for the Best Retail Bank in the UAE and GCC for the year 2009.

"Such international recognitions for ADCB's core businesses demonstrate the robustness of our operations in the face of current macroeconomic challenges." Mr Fraser concluded.
