2011 "ADCB Ambition Award" nominations open to recognise the UAE's most inspiring women

ADCB asks ambitious women of the UAE to nominate themselves for the USD 10,000 prize, plus more . . .

Abu Dhabi, 13 July 2011: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank ("ADCB") has announced that the third annual "ADCB Ambition Award" competition opened on 1st July, 2011. The award forms part of the Emirates Woman, Woman of the Year Awards 2011 in association with ADCB and aims to reward ambitious, driven women across the UAE who have a vision for a business or community project that will make a difference. The winning finalist will be announced at the Emirates Woman, Woman of the Year Awards 2011 in association with ADCB in November this year, one of the UAE's most prestigious annual events.

The ADCB Ambition Award is open to UAE nationals and residents over the age of 18 who not only demonstrate initiative, but who have a plan to positively influence the fields of philanthropy or entrepreneurship through visionary projects. Women in the UAE are encouraged to nominate themselves and tell ADCB in 500 words their greatest entrepreneurial or community improvement ambitions and the steps they are taking to achieve it their goals. The top 15 candidates will be shortlisted to go forward for public vote and the top five publically voted women will present their idea in front of the ADCB Ambition Award panel, which includes members from ADCB, Motivate, INSEAD and last year's ADCB Ambition Award winner, on the 9th October 2011.

The winner of the ADCB Ambition Award will receive a prize of USD $10,000 from ADCB, investment advice, and vouchers worth AED 2,000 to Burjuman Mall in Dubai, as well as a place on an INSEAD Key Management Challenge which takes place on their Abu Dhabi campus. The Key Management Challenge is a module of the INSEAD Global Executive MBA programme, ranked fourth in the world by the Financial Times. Last year's award winner, Emily Cheyne, was able to develop her website for her business Know How Life and also cultivate her marketing plan and advertising strategy with the help of the cash injection from ADCB. Emily will take her place in the INSEAD Key Management Challenge in October this year and firmly believes the course will enable her to run her business with even more innovation.
