ADCB Appoints New Chief Economist

Abu Dhabi, 16 November 2014: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) announced today the appointment of Monica Malik as its new Chief Economist. In her role, Dr. Malik will work on building economic research to help inform the bank's decision making.


Dr. Malik brings over 15 years of experience as an economist in the MENA region. She joins from EFG-Hermes where she was the Chief Economist, and previously worked as senior economist with Standard Chartered Bank (Dubai) and Dun & Bradstreet (London).


Welcoming the appointment, Deepak Khullar, Group Chief Financial Officer at ADCB said: "This is an important and strategic appointment for ADCB. Dr. Malik is the author of several academic books and articles on economic development in the GCC. She holds a Ph.D. in Economic Development in the Middle East from the University of Durham and a MA in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia.
