Protect yourself against fraud by remaining alert when using your mobile device. Always install applications and updates only from trusted sources. Below is practical guidance to help keep your information secure.

How to stay safe?

Please take the following precautions at all times:

  • Only download applications and updates from official app stores, such as the Google Play Store or Apple App Store
  • Never install applications or updates sent via SMS, WhatsApp, email, pop-ups, or links in messages
  • Enable biometric login features such as fingerprint or facial recognition on your device and banking app for added convenience and security
  • Do not grant permissions unless you fully trust the application and understand why access is required
  • Keep device security features enabled, such as Google Play Protect on Android devices and built-in security settings on Apple devices
  • Keep your device operating system and applications updated through official app stores and device settings only
  • Never share your OTP, PIN, password, or login credentials with anyone
  • If you are prompted to install an update outside an official app store or your device’s official settings, please do not proceed

If you believe you have been targeted by fraud, please report it immediately through our official Contact Centre on 600 50 2030. For essential tips to recognize and prevent fraud, click here.

Stay Safe online with authentic websites

If you are unsure about the authenticity of a website, you can visit the UAE Government’s Stay Safe platform.

Stay Safe Website URL https://staysafe.csc.gov.ae/home.

Copy and paste any website link you are unsure of into Stay Safe and it will check multiple sources for you to see if the site is a scam, phishing attempt or legitimate website.

Please note these sources are not complete or error-free, as new types of phishing attempts and well-hidden scams may not be identifiable.

StaySafe is one of many tools and checks available, and additional measures should always be taken to verify the authenticity of a website.
