Your safety and trust are essential when starting a banking relationship. As part of our commitment to protecting your financial wellbeing, there are simple steps you can take to stay secure during the onboarding process.
Identity theft and misuse of UAE Pass credentials continue to pose risks. To safeguard your information, please remain vigilant and follow secure onboarding practices at every stage of your journey.
How can you protect yourself?
- Use official bank channels only, including the Mobile Banking App, bank website, or physical branches, for all applications and communication.
- Keep your UAE Pass credentials strictly confidential. Never share authentication codes, passwords or personal documents via WhatsApp, SMS or other unofficial platforms.
- Report any suspicious messages, calls or activity immediately through bank’s verified contact channels.
How to avoid these risks?
- Do not share your Emirates ID, passport, or UAE Pass details with anyone outside official bank channels.
- Submit applications only through verified bank platforms. Avoid engaging with third-party agents unless their identity has been formally confirmed by your bank.
- Stay alert to unexpected alerts or unfamiliar transactions, as these could be warning signs of fraud.
By staying aware and vigilant, you can work together with your bank to protect your identity and financial security. If you believe you have been targeted by fraud, please report it immediately through our official Contact Centre on 600 50 2030. For essential tips to recognize and prevent fraud, please click here.
Stay Safe online with authentic websites
If you are unsure about the authenticity of a website, you can visit the UAE Government’s Stay Safe platform:
Stay Safe Website URL https://staysafe.csc.gov.ae/home
Simply copy and paste any website link you are unsure of into Stay Safe and it will check multiple sources for you to see if the site is a scam, phishing attempt or legitimate website.
Please note these sources are not complete or error-free, as new types of phishing attempts and well-hidden scams may not be identifiable.
Stay Safe is one of the many tools and checks available, and additional measures should always be taken to verify the authenticity of a website.
