ADCB SecurePass is a secure and seamless way of authenticating e-commerce transactions made using ADCB Islamic Banking Credit and Debit Cards via ADCB Mobile Banking App replacing SMS OTPs.
Yes. We are introducing a secure and seamless authentication process for e-commerce transactions via ADCB Mobile Banking App. Instead of a SMS OTP, you would receive a push notification on your registered mobile device to approve your ADCB Islamic Banking Credit or Debit Card transaction through your ADCB Mobile Banking App.
ADCB SecurePass is a smarter and secure way designed to provide seamless and reliable authentication across all your e-commerce transactions.
- Mitigates fraud risks such as phishing, SMS OTP theft, social engineering, and SIM-swap attacks.
- Eliminates the need to wait for SMS or manually enter authentication codes.
- Biometric verification is sufficient to authorise your purchase.
- Only an active internet connection is needed.
- Once you initiate an e-commerce transaction at an online merchant using your ADCB Islamic Banking Credit or Debit Card, you will receive a push notification on your mobile device, which will redirect you to the ADCB Mobile Banking App, replacing the traditional SMS OTP.
- Tap on the push notification to approve the online Credit or Debit Card transaction. If you don’t have push notifications enabled, you can go to ADCB Mobile app and click on ADCB SecurePass section to authorise your transaction.
- Verify your transaction by selecting 'Approve’ or using your biometric authentication.
Follow the steps below to register your device and approve e-commerce transactions via ADCB Mobile Banking App:
- Download or update the ADCB Mobile Banking App
- Ensure push notifications are enabled on your mobile device and in ADCB Mobile Banking App

For customers who have registered a trusted device and updated their mobile number via the ADCB Mobile Banking App, SMS OTPs will be replaced by push notifications and authentication through the ADCB Mobile Banking App.
To ensure a smooth transition for select customers, SMS OTP may remain temporarily available as an alternative method. However, ADCB Islamic Banking will gradually phase out SMS OTP authentication for e-commerce transactions.
You may continue to opt for SMS OTP on the 3DS Secure page during this transitional period. However, we recommend registering your device with the ADCB Mobile Banking app to authorise your transactions seamlessly.
Yes. During the transitional period, SMS OTP option will be available on the 3D Secure page if you are facing troubles using ADCB SecurePass
Please ensure your internet connection is active, the ADCB Mobile Banking App is updated, and notifications are enabled. If you do not receive a push notification, you can still open the ADCB Mobile Banking App and select the 'ADCB SecurePass' tab on the login screen. Alternatively, after logging in, you may click the notification bell icon to approve the transaction.
As the primary cardholder, if you are currently receiving SMS OTPs for transactions made with your supplementary card, you will begin receiving push notifications via the ADCB Mobile Banking App instead. However, if the supplementary cardholder receives SMS OTPs on a mobile number registered specifically for the supplementary card, they will continue to receive SMS OTPs for e-commerce transactions.
