FAQ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
ADCB Chip & PIN Cards
Chip and PIN is a card payment system that provides an extra level of security. You’ll be glad to know that your new ADCB Card is Chip and PIN enabled. This means you will be required to enter your PIN (Personal Identification Number) to complete your transactions – giving you increased security when paying with your card.
With Chip and PIN enabled cards, you are required to use your PIN when making purchases. The PIN you create will be your unique 4-digit secret code that is known only to you. This added security feature will reduce chances of fraud on your card. Your PIN should be kept safe at all times and should not be shared with anyone including ADCB bank representatives.
To create or change your PIN, please SMS ‘ACT last 6 digits of your card number 4 digit PIN (Personal Identification Number) of your choice’ to 2626.

- The cashier will key in the correct payment amount.
- After confirming the amount, the cashier will hand over the machine to you.
- You will be asked to enter your PIN. Before doing so, we highly advise you to check that the cashier has entered the correct payment amount, and ensure no one is looking at your PIN while you are keying it in.
- Once your PIN has been accepted, a transaction slip will be printed.
- Your card will then be handed back to you.
Occasionally the cashier may ask you to sign on the receipt even though you have used your Chip and PIN enabled card. Don’t be concerned when this happens; it’s only because the machine used by the cashier is not fully ready for Chip and PIN transactions.
